EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Parklets and scooters have been on the Eau Claire Town Council agenda Tuesday as well as extending the research for a new town supervisor.
The city is seeking for a substitution due to the fact Dale Peters retired in Oct. Dave Solberg is serving as interim city manager. The council agreed to prolong Solberg’s interim period for six more months.
The city had narrowed the look for to a few finalists in January. Even so, the city’s first selection turned the occupation down.
The council unanimously passed an ordinance to let restaurants to develop outdoor seating into a person curbside parking stall or “parklet” subsequent to their buildings.
The transfer is a way eating places can broaden ability whilst working out social distancing during hotter months. These “parklet cafes” would be allowed to operate from now till the finish of Oct.
The council also handed by a unanimous vote an ordinance to regulate electric scooter rental solutions in the metropolis.
Condition legislation enables them to run within towns. Eau Claire previously prohibits people riding scooters on trails or sidewalks downtown and in the Drinking water Avenue District.
Metropolis officers say two scooter rental providers have approached the metropolis about functioning in Eau Claire.
