Matt Damon worried above mis-marketing of approaching film ‘Stillwater’

Matt Damon has elevated fears about his new drama Stillwater staying falsely promoted as a Taken-model thriller.

The film stars Damon as a blue-collar employee who attempts to exonerate his daughter from a murder demand while she is imprisoned in France.

“When my producer instructed me about the motion picture, and what it is about, it is a person who goes to preserve his daughter, I’m like, ‘Oh, it’s gonna be a franchise thing?” Damon explained on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast this week.

The actor became worried that Stillwater would be presented in a related light-weight in order to tap into Taken‘s existing audience.

“That’s why I fret if they market it also substantially like a thriller,” Damon informed Maron.

Even so, he also voiced his appreciation of the films that Stillwater may possibly be falsely compared to.
