PBC Dems censure faculty board members about ‘white advantage’ reversal

Leaders of the Palm Seaside County Democratic Get together voted overwhelmingly Thursday to censure four college board customers for removing the phrase “white advantage” from a declaration about the community schools’ commitment to equity.

The county party’s govt committee resoundingly endorsed the resolution proposed by condition Rep. Omari Hardy, D-Lake Worthy of Seaside, which declared the board members’ 4-3 vote very last 7 days to amend their equity assertion “runs counter to our Democratic values.”

“These 4 board members, all of whom are registered Democrats, have misplaced the trust and self-assurance of several activists and leaders of color whose enthusiastic guidance for the Democratic Social gathering has been – and will proceed to be – important to (the) party’s good results in Palm Seashore County and in Florida more broadly,” the resolution mentioned.
